About
18 & Co. was formed as a collaboration between James Podsiadly and Hamish McLachlan. It was set up as an incubator for creative ideas in the sports and entertainment space, giving brands the chance to attach themselves to exciting ideas.
Through a relationship spanning 15 years, their view has always been that things can be done differently. 18 & Co. strives to do things in a way that hasn't been done before.

Football and golf are where the founders connected. Eighteen players on the field at any one time; eighteen holes on a course. One number, two codes, a shared way of doing things — hence 18 & Co.

18 & Co. exists to make brands more seen and engaged with, athletes better humans, and codes more attractive for people to participate in.
04 — Founders
Hamish McLachlan
Hamish McLachlan grew up on a sheep farm in South Australia, where he was shown what hard work and diligence can achieve. After aspirations of becoming a professional tennis player or footballer, he ended up working in sports management.
He has always been involved in commercial enterprises, investing in people and start-ups over the last 30 years. 18 & Co. is a creative and commercial outlet that allows fun projects to be brought to life.
James Podsiadly
James Podsiadly is one of the AFL's great stories. Overlooked in the national drafts, he was rookie-listed by Geelong, made his AFL debut at 28 and went on to become a premiership player.
His tenacity and resilience are hallmarks of who he is. He has since moved into business, founding AFL Max, and is a founding member of 18 & Co.
05 — Projects
The One Putt Open
The One Putt Open began with Hamish being a terrible putter and getting beaten by his 10-year-old son. That's when he realised that with a big prize pool on offer, anyone in Australia could win. It doesn't take strength or distance — just one straight putt, and the nerve to hold it.
Over a coffee with James, the concept went from an idea to reality. The One Putt Open is now a joint venture with Golf Australia.
